The following routine can be used in the conversion phase of a tennis strength training program. If you're sure about the various phases of a sports-specific strength program you can learn more about it here:

It can be completed 2-3 times per week and should not be completed on the same day as a resistance training session. It should also be completed when fresh at the start of a training session before endurance work for example.

This program is NOT suitable for junior tennis players who have not physically matured.

About two years ago Total Soccer Fitness, a resource dedicated to the effective conditioning of soccer players, was produced and released by Sports Fitness Advisor. While the book has been, and continues to be, a hugely popular text it failed to cater for one very important group of players... juniors!

If you're a soccer coach, parent or player you'll know that conditioning in soccer is usually an after thought in most coaching manuals and books. And of the few that do address this vitally important area, they almost exclusively focus on older players. But what about the tens of thousands of players under the age of 18?

Can an adult conditioning program simply be halved or watered down to fit the needs of a youngster? Definitely not! And that was the motivation for writing Total Soccer Fitness for Juniors. It focuses on players aged 8 - 18 with recommendations divided into age groups. It covers every important element of fitness - endurance, speed, agility, strength, flexibility and so on. It's packed with usable drills and sample programs that coaches can take as is or easily adopt to suit their own needs. In fact you can read exactly what it covers here:

If it's a resource you're interested in, please don't try to order it yet. It's not available until this coming Monday (16th April). And to kick off its launch I'd like to offer all Sports Workout subscribers the chance to get it at half price...

The first 250 people to purchase the book (and accompanying bonuses) will get it for just $14.50 instead of the regular $29. This offer will be up for one day only - on Monday - and I will send out an e-mail with details of a special discount page.

If you think this will be an important tool in your coaching armoury then why not get it at half the regular price? Please keep your eyes on your inbox on Monday and look out for that e-mail.
